■Clifford Jordan
Tenor saxophonist born in Chicago in 1931. He began his career as a jazz player in 1947 at the tender age of 16, and built his career by performing with Max Roach, Sonny Stitt, and several R&B groups, mainly in his hometown of Chicago. In 1957, he moved to New York and released three albums with BLUENOTE, participated in many recordings as a sideman, and toured with Horace Silver, JJ Johnson, Kenny Dorham, and Max Roach, becoming an important figure in the US jazz scene.
