Ancient Infinity Orchestra 『It's Always About Liberation』 CD

The latest album from the UK Leeds-based large-scale jazz ensemble, Ancient Infinity Orchestra, who have sublimated the lineage from Pharoah Sanders and Alice Coltrane into a richer and more vibrant spiritual jazz!

Inspired by poet Moor Mother's message "It's always about love / It's always about liberation," their previous work ("It's always about love") explored a calm, celebratory, and spiritual release. This album, however, seeks freedom and a path to the future in a fragmented world. Its sound and spirituality are truly contemporary spiritual jazz!

A splendid ensemble unique to a large-scale formation, consisting of diverse instruments such as the Zimbabwean mbira (thumb piano), the kaval (a woodwind instrument widely spread from Central Asia), and the West African string instrument Donso Ngoni, along with bass, harp, saxophone, clarinet, violin, viola, cello, oboe, flute, mandolin, conga, piano, drums, and percussion!
