The Jansen, an Indonesian indie punk band with over 220,000 Instagram followers and over 1.6 million monthly listeners on Spotify, will release their 5th album, "Impulsive Romanticism," this summer! It's bright and catchy punk rock that mixes indie punk and post-punk with power pop and garage rock!

The Jansen, a national indie punk band from Indonesia, who previously released the debut EP "From Bogor to Japan" in 2016, is set to release their 5th album, "Impulsive Romanticism," in Japan this summer, a decade after their debut, via P-VINE!

While categorized as indie punk, The Jansen mixes various styles from the UK to the US, including post-punk, power pop, indie pop, garage, and lo-fi. They deliver familiar punk music with a pop sensibility unique to Jansen and catchy melodies sung in Indonesian.

Their pop sensibility has been further refined in this album, which includes songs like "bagaimana kabarmu, sayang?" that strongly show influences from US indie artists of the 2010s.

Furthermore, while retaining their punkish roots, this album also features many danceable indie songs centered around a four-on-the-floor beat, from tracks like "jika hidup bagai rumah makan sederhana" which add a four-on-the-floor beat to The Jansen's signature sound, to songs like "bila cinta adalah sebuah kenakalan remaja" which incorporate 80s elements, creating an album full of songs that are sure to liven up live performances.
