Pharoah Sanders and Wendell Harrison (TRIBE), two giants of spiritual jazz, finally!

Following in Coltrane's footsteps, Pharoah Sanders, who passed away in 2022 to much sorrow, continued to perform music that transcended the physical realm of sound to work on the spirit, traversing both mainstream and alternative styles until his last days. And Wendell Harrison, the leader of Tribe, has consistently championed blackness and spirituality independently from his Detroit base. Though aware of each other's existence, these two, who never met during their lifetimes, serendipitously come together in the form of a tribute concert to Pharoah Sanders! In July 2025, under the banner of "Love & Peace," a major theme in spiritual jazz representing universal love and peace, Wendell's TRIBE JAZZ ENSEMBLE will carry on the legacy of the late Pharoah Sanders with spiritual healing, wishing for love to overflow and peace to prevail in this chaotic world riddled with conflict.
