A classic early '80s modern soul album with a blue-eyed exhilaration! The first album by The Entertainers, a South Carolina soul band whose smash hit "Livin' For The Summer" was a hit!
The Entertainers are a South Carolina soul band led by singer Earl Dookins. After their first single "Livin' For The Summer" was a smash hit in 1980, they released their first album in 1983. From well-chosen covers of songs like the Chi-Lites' "Hot On A Thang," Bobby Patterson's "I'm in love with you," and Turley Richards' "I won't cry anymore" and "What are we gonna do," to the aforementioned "Livin' For The Summer," the mid-tempo tune "I'm Leavin'" with its gorgeous string sounds, and original songs, this album is full of modern soul with the exhilarating feel of blue-eyed soul and AOR!
