Roy Brooks And The Artistic Truth 『Black Survival - "The Sahel Concert" At Town Hall』CD

★First limited production ★Paper jacket specification

The ultimate spiritual jazz, driven by pure blackness and refined spirituality!

Drummer Roy Brooks, who had a huge influence on the Detroit jazz scene through his participation in various TRIBE albums, has left behind an incredible live documentary with "Ethnic Expressions," which reaches the pinnacle of rarity, spirituality, and groove!

Roy Brooks was always at the forefront of the US jazz scene, starting with the Horace Silver combo in the early 60s, and participating in bands with such illustrious artists as Stanley Turrentine, Yusef Lateef, and Charles Mingus until his death in 2005. He was an artist who had a huge influence on the US jazz scene, including the works of his hometown Detroit's legendary spiritual jazz label TRIBE and his participation in M'Boom (an all-percussionist project) led by legendary drummer Max Roach. With Roy Brooks And The Artistic Truth, which he led himself, he developed spiritual jazz guided by high-purity blackness and refined spirituality!

Like the ultimate spiritual jazz album ``ETHNIC EXPRESSIONS,'' which is praised for its rarity, spirituality, and groove, this album features tense sounds from powerful black musicians such as Joe Bonner (piano), Reggie Workman (bass), Sonny Fortune (alto sax), and Cecil Bridgewater (trumpet), making this a spiritual jazz definitive album worthy of being called ``ultimate,'' just like ``ETHNIC EXPRESSIONS''!
