Junie "Live at the Dooleys 1976" CD

This is a physical release of an unreleased 1975 live performance by Junie Morrison, a talented musician who played with the Ohio Players and P-Funk, and who influenced the G-Funk sound and Solange, and who passed away in 2017!

Walter "Junie" Morrison is a composer, producer, singer and multi-instrumentalist who played with the Ohio Players and P-Funk. His synth playing on the Ohio Players' smash hit "Funky Worm" (1973) had a major influence on the later G-Funk sound, and he co-wrote P-Funk's signature songs "One Nation Under A Groove" (1978) and "(Not Just) Knee Deep" (1979) with George Clinton. Solange is a genius who included a song inspired by him and dedicated to him on her album "A Seat at the Table" (2016). This unreleased live performance, which was recorded after he left the Ohio Players and was probably released after the release of his second solo album "Freeze" in 1975, is now available physically! The album is centered around songs from "Freeze," and includes a medley of Ohio Players' hits, Aretha Franklin's "Oh Me Oh My (I'm A Fool For You Baby)," Diana Ross's "Surrender," and even a cover of The Temptations' "Shakey Ground." A must-listen for fans of Ohio Players, P-Funk, and funk!
