SYLVIE "Sylvie" CD

The long-awaited first album from SYLVIE, a project by Southern California native Ben Schwab, who has been gaining attention in the US indie scene for his participation in Drugdealer's album and collaboration with Widowspeak! With a good old American style folky sound, a drowsy psychedelic flavor, and a soft sound wrapped in beautiful melodies and harmonies, this is the best soft rock of the modern era!

SYLVIE is a project by Southern California native Ben Schwab, who has steadily built his career in the US indie scene, including his work with Golden Daze, a psychedelic folk rock band, and his participation in Drugdealer's album Raw Honey as guitar, piano, and backing vocals. Inspired by the demo tapes left by Mad Anthony, a band in which Ben's father John Schwab was a member about half a century ago (unfortunately, they never got a record contract), SYLVIE's sound is a link between the good old American style of the 60's and 70's and the current US indie scene. The band features singers of the same generation with a similar feeling, such as Marina Allen, a female SSW who has attracted attention for her singing voice reminiscent of Carpenters and Carole King, on "Falls on Me" (M1) and "Further Down The Road" (M4), and Sam Burton, a male SSW who serves as the vocalist for the folk rock "Sylvie" (M2) and "Stealing Time" (M7), which are covers of Matthews Southern Comfort, which is also the band's name. In addition, "50/50" (M6) is layered with the voice of his father John Schwab, and "Rosaline" (M3) is newly recorded with the microphone pointed at John, making it a universal sound that transcends time and space! In April 2022, they will be performing together on the tour accompanying Widowspeak's latest album "The Jacket", attracting further attention, and this work, which will be released by Full Time Hobby, a label that has produced many high-quality indie bands in the UK, is expected to be a worldwide success.
