The best contemporary French label This much talked about US minor soul/jazz album, which was first reissued on vinyl in February this year, is now available on CD for the first time in Japan! This is the only album released in 1981 by a local trio consisting of Frank Jones Jr., Alfred Brown Jr. and John Belzaguy, and was originally released by a New Jersey label known for its treasures such as the Ted Coleman Band and the Minority Band. This is sure to get any rare groove fan salivating. With deep, spiritual low-pitched vocals reminiscent of Jon Lucien or Dwight Trible, gracefully played jazz-style piano, and dynamic percussion... their indescribably noble groovy sound, which straddles soul, jazz, and disco, sparkles like the surface of twilight water, just like the band's name. And yet, it's surprising to learn that all the members were around 18 years old at the time, so this is so 20th century!
