Starting with overseas business trip recordings from the Meiji Era, to popular songs from the Taisho Era, popular songs and jazz songs from the Showa Era, historical sources, speeches and other special recordings, and even 'erotic songs' to 'nightclub records' and 'heta jazz! to the album categories hit by GURAMOKURABU, this is a book on the history of vinyl records traced with visuals.

The theme is record design, with many colour pages showing the vivid labels of song records and printed matter such as lyric cards.

The many notable line-ups include records of comedians and film actors, Ryoichi Hattori and Shizuko Kasagi, models for the 2023 morning drama, and flesh-and-blood records of the Asakusa Opera and loyal dog Hachiko, which are celebrating 100 years.

Toru Hori

Born 1972, Chiba, Japan. Archive producer, researcher on pre-war recording culture, representative of Gramo Club. Under the theme of examining the contrast between the past and the present, he conveys the splendour of pre-war music and the changes of the times through recordings through events and the media. SP reissue CDs she has produced include Hanako kara ohanashi no okurimono (From Hanako to Ohanashi no okurimono) and Odore! Boogie Ugi: Kuradashi Sengo Jazz Songs 1948-55" (Universal), "Nihon no Gunka Archives", "KING OF ONDO: Tokyo Ondo de Okkoku Tours", "That's Nippon Entertainment Series" (Victor) and many others. In recent years, he has released a CD 'Oodokura Recording 2020', which recreates pre-war recording scenes and won the 2021 Music Pen Club Music Award for best work in the Popular category. Radio appearances include TBS Radio's Ijuin Hikari Torajito "Are Record".
