This is the debut album by Cleveland Eaton, the super talented bassist who also played in the Ramsey Lewis Trio! The superb groove that crosses genres from funk to disco to jazz will make you want to dance!
"Plenty Good Eaton" was released in 1975 by Cleveland Eaton, a renowned bassist from Alabama who supported the second Ramsey Lewis Trio in the late 1960s as a rhythm section member with EW&F frontman Maurice White, and later played in the Count Basie Orchestra. The album starts off with the groovy and danceable disco-funk tune "Chi-Town Theme," which incorporates fusion and soul elements, followed by "Keena," which gives you a blissful moment with the violin played by Ed Green, a violinist who also participated in Ramsey Lewis's works, and "Moe, Let's Have A Party," which features powerful funky bass. Although the songs are of various types, they are all black cosmic funk with a superb groove that can only be created by a work led by Cleveland, the bassist!
