TOTSUZEN DANBALL "Can I?" CD
The non-bossa nova "Girl from Ipanema" that shook the world!
Combining tranquil acoustic guitar sounds with experimental tape editing, this is a truly one-of-a-kind piece of dry humor.
Totsuzen Cardboard was formed in 1977 by brothers Eiichi Tsutaki (vocals) and Shunji Tsutaki (guitar).
He made his debut in 1980 with the single "White Man" (included in "PASS NO PAST - EP & Singles").
It has attracted attention for its mysterious and eccentric world.
This is the first full album by Totsudan, released in 1981, and has been made into a CD with the addition of the classic hit "Natsu wa Kagerow" and more!
Their unique sound attracted attention overseas, leading to collaborations with artists such as Lol Coxhill and Fred Frith (ex. Henry Cow).
On August 25th, 2003, his older brother, Eiichi Tsutaki, sadly passed away, but the band continues to be active, led by his younger brother, Shunji.
