As a singer, guitarist and songwriter in the band Fabric, Zachary Crawford has been singing standards and gaining experience on the jazz circuit under the influence of Kurt Elling, Mark Murphy and Chet Baker. He started writing songs again in earnest during the lockdown, and his love of harmonies, choruses, sharp lyrics and jazz chords led him to the soft rock and yacht rock of the late 70s and early 80s. His debut album draws on influences from the 70s and 80s and was recorded using a combination of vintage analog instruments and modern production methods. Produced by Phil Martin of Martin & Garp, it has a refreshing and sophisticated sound reminiscent of late 70s West Coast music. A must-listen for fans of Martin & Garp, this is an extremely high-quality AOR album.
