LOVE WONDERLAND “The Long Noon” CD
A rising star in the Kyoto music scene! An effective sound that sublimates roots reggae and dub, and innocent, nostalgic melodies that evoke the feeling of "song" = "Lovers Rock of the Higan"!
Love Wonderland, the unorthodox reggae band formed around Takujuro Iwade of "No Performance Today," has completed a comfortable yet mysterious debut album delivered to you from the other side of the shore!
◆Although they are a lovers rock/reggae band, they are not simply a rehash of roots reggae, but rather are not straightforward, which is probably due to Takujuro Iwade's sense.
This work is reminiscent of the songs of Seiichi Yamamoto of Compass and the atmosphere of the later Fishmans, coexisting with the kitschy vocals and melodies of vocalist Beniichi Paru.
Based on the hazy, white-washed sound of 80s UK lovers, the sound has depth and tape-like influences that are not too close to reggae dub manners and are also influenced by minimal psychedelic rock. The lost retro-future feel of VapoWrwave perfectly expresses the band's theme of "Lovers Rock of the Other Shore." It beautifully depicts a scene in which reggae is ringing forever in the distance.
The album also includes a cover of "Raspberry Sun," which had become an anthem at live venues even before its official release, and Tentenko's "Aloe Vera." Be sure to get the 7-inch version that includes these two songs!
