Soggy Cheerios "III" CD

Soichiro Suzuki (World Standard) + Masahiro Naoeda (Carnation) = Soggy Cheerios restarts after 4 years! The long-awaited third album is finally released!

■Soggy Cheerios, formed in 2013 by World Standard's Suzuki Soichiro and Carnation's Naoeda Masahiro, has released their long-awaited third album following the release of ``1959'' in 2013 and ``EELS & PEANUTS'' in 2015.

■The musicians participating include Yuuka, who shows off her brilliant vocals in "Uminari," Nakamori Yasuhiro of Hicksville, who was born in 1959 like the other members, Hiraizumi Mitsuji (COUCH), who is well known for supporting Soggy Cheerios at their live shows, and Taniguchi Yu (ex-Mori wa Ikiteiru), who is currently active as a support for many famous artists.

■The bonus track is a recording of "New Friends," a collaboration with Kamome Children's Choir at a release commemorative live show in May 2019.

What will Soggy Chelios' third album be about? Naoe and I didn't talk about it in detail. But one day, during a phone call, Naoe suddenly said, "Just turn the feelings of the summer of 2019 into songs as they are." He said it as if he was talking to himself. And those words really stuck in my mind. The songs we put together are neither the past nor the future, but are undoubtedly a rough snapshot of the present. That's why I can say with confidence that this is my favorite album right now. (Suzuki Soichiro)

For the previous two albums, the rule was that each partner would write and sing a song based on lyrics given to them by their partner, but this time, the work is completely divided. That said, the demos are basically just songs with lyrics and guitar, and the arrangements are thought up on the spot from scratch. That's the Soggy way. It's fun to head to the studio wondering, "What's going to happen today?" That's why there were constant surprises and laughter while working. If we'd had the time, we could have even made a triple album. No matter how old you get, you can't stop creating things, there are always new discoveries to make, and every year you get better.
