Seiichi Yamamoto “CAVINET” CD
Following his masterpiece song album "selfy," Yamamoto Seiichi's first in five years, he has completed an instrumental album with music firmly focused on "POP."
This work, which is the most abstract in Yamamoto's career in terms of rhythm, melody, composition, and texture, is an entirely instrumental work, a stark departure from his previous work, "selfy," released last November. It's a mental album. Even though something like a simple "musical skeleton" continues, there is always a certain air of excess in the background, and the final result is something that could be called "tranquil abundance", something quite... It reaches a mysterious and new sound field. It's a fitting epilogue to the furious release rush that seemed aimed at the state of emergency declared in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
