The second album "Jangal", released in 2003 by the Naniwa backyard rhyming group, Infuaigumi, formed in Americamura, Osaka, has been remastered and released! It is a masterpiece among masterpieces in the history of Japanese rap, highly praised by music magazines as a culmination of the work of the original members!
Rhyme group, Rhyme Fuai Kumiai, was formed by CHIEF ROKKA (SATUSSY, ERONE, DJ KAN), HEADBANGERZ (HIDADDY, Yuugi, DJ KITADA KEN, MENTOL), NOTABLEMC (OHYA (Daruma-san), AKIRA (EVISBEATS)) (now departed), and ILL MINT, also known as MINT (now departed). Rhyme released their first album, Critical 11, in 2002, which became a big hit and made their name known in the scene. Now, their second album, Jangaru, released the following year in 2003, is being re-released as a remastered version! The title track "Janggaru" that opens the album, as well as the raps and tracks that have evolved from the previous work, have been a hot topic everywhere, and it has been highly praised in music magazines as a masterpiece among masterpieces in the history of Japanese rap. It is a representative work of the early Rhyme Fuai Kumiai, which is a culmination of the original members!
It is written as "blue spring" and means "youth".
Looking back now, I see these two albums as works produced in the midst of our youth, and as our origins.
That time when I was just running around with my vibes and initial impulses, using my right and left brain to the fullest to rhyme. It seems like it was just yesterday, but I'm surprised that 20 years have already passed, and I feel nostalgic about how I was so passionate about sticking to originality, working hard, and producing results!
The spark of each artist's talent and the chemical reaction between the raps and beats have made this an epoch-making album for sure.
Furthermore, with the artwork by DJ NAPEY and CMK, and the efforts of A&R man Masaru Sato (RIP), I believe we were able to leave a strong mark on the scene.
I hope that with this release, not only heads who remember that time, but also teenage listeners who weren't even born at the time of its release, will learn that there was a time when such a rich, doo-dop album was made and enjoy it.
peace.
