BILL CALLAHAN “Gold Record” CD
Bill Callahan, a singer-songwriter representing Drag City who is currently at the peak of his career, releases a new album just one year after his last album. It's a masterpiece filled with tremendous appeal!
Since his 2009 album "Sometimes I Wish We Were An Eagle," Bill Callahan has been ranked among the top of the year by overseas media, and has gained unshakable acclaim and popularity, especially in the West. He is often mentioned in the lineage of Scott Walker and Leonard Cohen, and this new album, released just one year after his last album, which was his first in six years, begins with the greeting "Hello, I'm Johnny Cash." and ends with the signature "Sincerely, L. Cohen." The album opener "Pigeons" draws you into its world at once. The neat and raspy sound, woven around his own acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass, drums, trumpet, woodwind instruments, and synths, resonates for the whole world, like a sound that naturally occurred to accompany and convey the life that lives everywhere. And that singing voice with immeasurable depth... A total of 10 songs, including a re-performance of "Let's Move To The Country" from the masterpiece "Knock Knock" (1999/Smog), produced by Jim O'Rourke. A masterpiece.
