The Ocean "Phanerozoic Era - Destruction and Creation Part 1: Paleozoic Era" CD

The latest album by THE OCEAN, one of the most important German progressive metal bands that has led the modern progressive/post-metal scene since the 2000s along with MASTODON and OPETH, has finally been released in Japan! Jonas Renkse (Katatonia) makes a guest appearance (M5)!

This is the long-awaited latest album following their previous album "pelagia" (2013), which was highly praised by major overseas HR/HM media such as DECIBEL, REVOLBER, and ROCK SOUND, and their split EP "Transcendental" (2015) with MONO, a representative Japanese instrumental rock band. As with the previous album, the mixing was done by metal master Jens Bogren, who has worked with overseas metal bands such as ARCH ENEMY and DRAGONFORCE as well as domestic bands such as DIR EN GREY and Ling Tosite Sigure, and the complex song structure that weaves together stillness and movement, slowness and speed, growling and clean vocals intertwined with lyrical melodies, and cutting-edge metal elements, making it the ultimate in "progressive" sound.

Starting at the end of October 2018, just before the release of this album, they are scheduled to embark on a tight tour in which they will play 20 live shows in 10 countries in just one month, including Germany, France, the UK, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy, Slovakia, Romania, Hungary and Poland. Metal fans around the world are paying close attention to their movements in 2019, wondering whether they will appear again at major metal festivals such as Wacken Open Air (Germany), Roskilde Festival (Denmark), and Graspop Metal Meeting (Belgium), which they performed at when their previous album was released, or whether they will set off on another world tour, visiting North America, Russia, Oceania and Asia. Meanwhile, their shocking masterpiece, titled ``Phanerozoic I: Palaeozoic'' (= Phanerozoic Era I: Paleozoic Era), based on the concept of the ancient Earth - a geological era from approximately 542 million years ago, has finally been released! Jonas Renkse of Katatonia, an originator of death doom and currently a leader in the progressive scene, participates as a guest vocalist in the epic track "Devonian: A New Genesis" (M5), which is over 10 minutes long.
