Christone "Kingfish" Ingram "Kingfish" CD
King-sized in looks and talent! This face at just 20 years old! Guitarist and singer Christone "Kingfish" Ingram, who was rumored to be a child prodigy in the Mississippi Delta, the holy land of blues, makes his grand debut with the prestigious Alligator label! The future of blues is in your hands! With guest appearances by the greats Buddy Guy and Keb' Mo', and produced by Grammy contractor Tom Hambridge, this masterpiece heralds a new era of blues!
★Kingfish Boy was born and raised in Clarksdale, Mississippi, where Robert Johnson made a deal with the devil. He has been playing and groaning blues since his mid-teens. His appearance squeezing the guitar with a look of agony on his face, reminiscent of the late BB King, became a rumor among blues enthusiasts, and even Bootsy Collins shared a video saying, "There are some amazing kids here!" He honed his skills on club tours and blues festivals around the country, and guest-starred on albums by Eric Gales and Sebastian Laing. He also appeared in the movie "Sideman," which was released in Japan last year, and the popular Netflix drama "Luke Cage." Amidst the buzz, he has finally made his record debut with the prestigious Alligator label.
★Produced by the talented Tom Hambridge, who has won Grammy awards for Buddy Guy and Susan Tedeschi. Eight of the 12 tracks are originals by Kingfish and Hambridge. From the heavy M2 where he competes with Buddy Guy on guitar, to the soulful M7 where he exchanges vocals with Keb' Mo', who plays guitar on six tracks, M5 in the style of "Mojo Workin'" with Billy Branch on harp, M11, a traditional delta blues song backed only by Keb' Mo's resonator guitar, and M12 in the style of "Ain't Nobody's Business" with dark, lustrous, emotional vocals and wailing guitar, all are wonderful! Recommended not only for blues fans but also for guitar kids of the same generation!
