The experimental music scene is quietly penetrating as the most creative field right now. The improvisational strength of Tadashi Kumihara (g) reigns as an unusual icon in this scene. Gunjo Gakurayon is powerfully revived in a new dimension after 37 years since its formation.
PASS Records, which existed from 1979 to 1981, was the only Japanese record label that aimed to explore unexplored areas of post-punk and post-rock at the time, and produced bands such as Friction, Phew, and Totsuzen Danboard. PASS relaunched in 2007 and is releasing a confident new work for the first time in a long while.
