ELVIN BISHOP "Elvin Bishop's Big Fun Trio" CD
With commentary and lyrics ※Commentary: Masahiro Suemori
Appearance at Fuji Rock and solo performance (Billboard Live Tokyo & Osaka) confirmed!
Elvin Bishop's Big Fun Trio is an exciting new project from one of the undisputed giants of roots music, Elvin Bishop! As the name suggests, it's just fun!
Elvin Bishop is a legend of blues and southern rock, and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2015. He was a founding member of the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, and later joined the famous Capricorn Records, where the greats of southern rock gathered, and released hits such as "Fooled Around And Fell In Love". His latest project is Elvin Bishop's Big Fun Trio. The unique, stripped-down lineup of Elvin (g, vo), Willie Jordan (cajon, vo), and Bob Welsh (g, p) delivers a new sense of blues and R&B that is extremely exciting and stimulating. In addition to Elvin's seven original songs, the album includes songs by Lightnin' Hopkins and Fats Domino, as well as a cover of Bobby Womack and the Valentinos' "It's All Over Now." Blues harp masters Charlie Musselwhite, Rick Estrin, and Kim Wilson each participate in one song. Recommended for fans of The Black Keys and The White Stripes!
