LILLIAN OFFITT “Oh Mama c/w My Man Is A Lover” 7inch
★First press limited edition
Lillian Offit, a female singer whose debut single "Miss You So," released on the prestigious Excello label in 1957, reached number eight on the R&B charts. She later joined the band of master guitarist Earl Hooker, and this reissue features her second single for Chief Records, released in 1960. The mid-slow blues "Oh Mama," featuring virtuoso Hooker's slide guitar, and the rocking blues "My Man Is A Lover," featuring a throbbing female chorus reminiscent of Sonny Boy Williamson's classic "Checkin' Up On My Baby," are both excellent.
