This is truly a megaton blues impulse. You can't talk about blues without listening to this! The first single from Otis Rush's Cobra recording, which is a special one for blues fans, "I Can't Quit You Baby" is reissued on 7 inches! Bound on the disc is a different take of the same song that was covered by the Rolling Stones on "Blue & Lonesome" and became a hot topic!
Otis Rush and his screaming blues are very special to modern blues fans. From the eternal blues treasures he recorded for Cobra Records in Chicago from 1956 to 1958, which marked the birth of a new urban blues style after BB King, we have reissued his first single and signature song, "I Can't Quit You Baby," on a 7-inch record. In addition to the impactful original version, which starts with Rush's bold roar after the intro is boldly cut by Willie Dixon's skill, the B-side is coupled with an alternate take with an intro that was included in the British Blue Horizon compilation "This One's A Good 'Un" and was also covered by the Rolling Stones on their 2016 album "Blue & Lonesome." This is a special album that allows you to enjoy the essence of Rush and the blues!
