Phil Ranelin, Harold McKinney, Lopez Leon, and other TRIBE artists. This is the latest reissue of a powerful disc with a jet-black groove and strong funkiness worthy of the name "Wendell Harrison and the Tribe"!

Wendell Harrison and his TRIBE bandmates recorded "Farewell To The Welfare" in 1975, and it was recently included as a bonus track on the CD reissue of "An Evening With The Devil". The original 7-inch version of the song has always fetched a high price! The contents of the album are of course excellent, with Lopez Leon (Bass), George Davidson (Drums) and other rhythm players supporting the jet-black groove of TRIBE related works, Harold McKinney's keyboards, and guitarists from many Detroit jazz masterpieces including the leader's works on STRATA. The powerful blows of Wendell Harrison (Tenor Saxophone/Flute) and his close friend Phil Ranelin (Trombone) are a killer jazz funk! This reissue features a jacket that did not exist on the original release and has been remastered to the latest specifications!
