ROY HAWKINS And His Orchestra『Wine Drinkin' Woman c/w My Temper Is Rising』7inch
★First press limited edition
Following on from Joe Lutcher, we're sorry to be releasing an SP as a 7-inch single! Roy Hawkins, the hidden West Coast singer/pianist who originated B.B. King's cover of "Thrill Is Gone," released his SP on Modern in 1950, and this 7-inch single is now available. Hawkins' smoky, full-bodied voice and the backing rhythm, directly linked to Jamaican ska, make for a thrilling, swinging boogie, "Wine Drinkin' Woman." The guitar work by virtuoso Chuck Norris is also a must-listen. The B-side, "My Temper Is Rising," is a superb slow blues track that fully showcases Hawkins' rich vocals and the exceptional playing of Norris and others.
