Robert Johnson 『Preaching Blues(Up Jumped The Devil) / Love In Vain Blues』10inch

"Preaching Blues" is a track that charges headlong on a single chord while making full, dynamic use of the slide guitar. Although subtitled "Up Jumped The Devil," this phrase never actually appears in the lyrics. While one theory suggests the label added it arbitrarily, it could also be interpreted as Robert likening the blues pursuing him to a devil."Love In Vain Blues" is undoubtedly most famous for The Rolling Stones' cover. Omitted from his first LP, "King of the Delta Blues Singers", it was viewed at the time as an unusual blues ballad.
