Tight, groovy soul-jazz from the most important artist in the rare groove scene, Hilton Felton, under the name 'THE THREE OF US' in 1971! This is the world's first LP reissue of this extremely rare record, which is rarely seen on the second-hand market due to its extremely small pressing!
This album was released in 1971 under the name THE THREE OF US as the first release on his own Hilton's Concept label, and was the first release by Hilton Felton, a keyboardist with a refined touch, a mellow feel and a superb groove. This is a superb soul-jazz album featuring the trio of Joe Harris (bass) and Johnathan Setell (drums), with whom Hilton was a regular band member at the time!
The soul jazz 'Here Comes David' (A1) and 'Music Shall Never Die' (A2) with its thick groove, of course, but also 'Your Analysis' (A3) with its aggressive intertwining with the tar and the tension is at its maximum, and the mellow vocal is sad. The ballad 'Maybe You'll Come Back To Me' (B1) and the euphoric killer soul 'Dream Come True (Parts 1 And 2)' (B2), which was also cut as a single!
