This is the 7th album released on his own Nodlew label, after having worked for RCA and Strata-East! This is a crossover jazz masterpiece released in 1989, featuring mainly sessions from the 80's as well as rare recordings from the early days of Steve Grossman's participation!
Starting with releases on his own Nodlew label, Weldon Irvine continued his career at RCA and Strata-East before releasing this new album in 1989 on Nodlew. This is an acoustic jazz album that shows Weldon Irvine's pride as a pianist, playing aggressively at times, and at other times with a fluid touch, Music Is The Key" (M1) is a mellow soul number featuring a new female vocalist. The album features mainly sessions from the 1980s, including the crossover jazz "Have You Met iss Jones?" (M6), Also included is the very rare "Mr. P.C." (M5), recorded in 1968 and featuring Steve Grossman (T.Sax) and Lenny White (drums), who also played with Miles' band! Latest remastering in 2023!
