The debut album by Calvin Keys, the signature guitarist of Black Jazz Records! This superb album combines pitch black grooves with free and tasteful guitar, so much so that Pat Metheny even wrote a song called "Calvin's Keys"!

Calvin Keys is a jazz guitarist who has participated in the works of his labelmates on Black Jazz Records such as Doug Kahn and Gene Russell. He is a highly regarded guitarist among musicians, as seen in the Grammy-winning Pat Metheny's song "Calvin's Keys." His debut album "Shawn-Neeq," released in 1971, starts with the groovy and funky 7-minute alternative jazz funk "BE." This song will appeal not only to jazz fans, but also to those who usually like guitar-based genres such as rock and blues! From the fantastic electric piano and gentle guitar of "Shawn-Neeq," the lounge jazz element of "Gee-Gee," to the acid funk "BK," which is a perfect match for the guitar that plays for over 9 minutes and Bob Bray's aggressive drumming, there are five songs in total, each with its own distinctive character!
