Friction's studio recording "Zone Tripper," born from a trip back and forth between Tokyo and New York, transcends its release in 1995 and connects to the present and the future. It is a modern, metallic membrane of sound that covers the twilight of the city. Their heavy metallic sound, constructed with sharp riffs, spatial effects, and a swarm of cut words, is the latest and final barrier of rock that goes beyond punk and new wave, and is, so to speak, the ultimate rock for city dwellers. This is the reason why this work, the only studio album by the three members REC, Akinobu Imai, and Minoru Sato, is still loved by people of all generations. It is a masterpiece that combines the sense of speed and weight that is common to Friction, led by current REC member Tatsuya Nakamura.
