Takashi Nagai "Hotoke" & Jun Yamagishi "... still in love with the Blues" LP
Released last year and generating a lot of buzz, the album "... still in love with the Blues" was created by Takashi "Hotoke" Nagai and Jun Yamagishi of the pioneering Japanese blues band, West Road Blues Band. The long-awaited LP will be released this fall!
Masaki Ueda of South to South, a leader in the Kansai blues/R&B scene, appears on two tracks not included on the CD. With two tracks also included on the CD, it's no exaggeration to say he's a member of the band, making this a must-have for fans.
The performance is simple, with no one, including guest Masaki Ueda, standing out, and each song ends without any pretensions. I'm filled with gratitude for the band's love of the blues and their simple way of conveying that feeling. I hope you'll experience the blues they've loved for half a century.
Recording and mixing was handled by Naoyuki Uchida (LITTLE TEMPO, OKI DUB AINU BAND, etc.), who is well known for his work on the recent works of Blues the Butcher, the band in which Nagai is currently a member.
