ASIAN SPICE HOUSE "Cosmic Rowers" LP
★First Press Limited Edition
Set sail on a cosmic voyage where Asian maritime music intersects with psychedelic and dub—the highly anticipated physical/LP release of the second album from the Seoul-based psychedelic band Asian Spice House, already gaining buzz in Japan!
Based in Seoul, Asian Spice House has built a unique musical identity that traverses psychedelic rock, world music, electronica, and dub while exploring elements of music from across Asia. Following their appearance at "Hashi no Shita World Music Festival ~ Soul Beat Asia 2025" in August 2025 and "Music Lane Okinawa 2026" in January 2026, their second album—arriving about two years after their debut—presents a deeper, more defined psychedelic sound. Through imagery of the ocean and waves, the album depicts human desire and inner longing, while expressing the flow and change of life and the connection between humanity and nature. Consisting of 11 tracks, the work constructs a multi-dimensional sound by fusing dub, electronica, and diverse rhythmic structures, anchored in the varied maritime music elements of the Asian monsoon region. They draw inspiration from Asian maritime folk music, such as Korean folk songs, Japan’s "Soran Bushi," and Thai Molam, reinterpreting them with a modern sensibility. Furthermore, by adding the vintage texture of the 70s and 80s, they evoke nostalgia while expanding their psychedelic soundscape. Released by Eastern Standard Sounds, the Seoul-based label that brought us NST & The Soul Sauce—who performed at Fuji Rock Festival in 2019 and whose album released that same year was voted second in the Reggae category of Music Magazine's Best Albums of the Year.
