NRQ "Retronym" LP
★First press limited edition
NRQ is an instrumental quartet that creates unique music that transcends time and place. Their fourth album, "Retronym," released in 2018, is the biggest milestone in the band's history, and is finally being released on LP!
NRQ is an instrumental band consisting of four members: Yuki Yoshida (erhu), Takuma Makino (guitar), Masanori Hattori (double bass), and Kanji Nakao (winds, drums). Their fourth album, "Retronym," released in 2018, was originally intended to be produced by just the four members, but it ended up being their most ambitious work to date. The album features the most overdubs in the band's history, as well as the largest number of guest musicians to date (Emerson Kitamura, Okyon, Satomi Endo, Yu Taniguchi, and Oh Shu), further expanding and enriching NRQ's strange and beautiful music. Recorded and mixed by Makoto Oshiro, the band's masterful and experienced team brought everything together, while Masato Hara handled the mastering, resulting in a superb sound. The striking artwork, created by illustrator/designer Kazuki Yajima, is even more impactful in the LP size. The album also includes the song "Home Waltz," which has been included in the "Home" playlist since the COVID-19 pandemic and has now been played 930,000 times on Spotify.
