The origin of Seiichi Yamamoto's "Utamono", the Rashinban album, is finally available on analogue LP for the first time!
This is the long-awaited first analogue release of the first album, which was originally released on Gün Cassette in 1997 and re-released by Warner in the same year with a new sleeve artwork. From the opening track 'Eien no Uta' (Songs of Eien), the album is lined with pop songs that are far removed from the expression Seiichi Yamamoto has shown in the past. The songs are full of a sense of comfort to the ear and a tingling tension beneath the skin. Rather, these songs seem to creep deep into the listener's relaxed consciousness because of their friendliness. The album also includes 'Howling Sun', a cover of 'Pilgrim's Progress' from Procol Harum's classic album Salty Dog. The strange neologism "utamono" (song) was also coined in response to the fact that Seiichi Yamamoto had begun to sing.
