A blues classic! The only album released by Charles Edwards, aka Good Rockin' Charles, in 1976, is reissued on LP!

He joined Jimmie Rodgers' band in 1955, and was chosen to record "Walkin' By Myself" in 1956, but got scared (?) and went out drinking, causing the recording to be cancelled. In 1957, Cobra Records arranged for him to record, but he didn't show up to the studio and the recording was cancelled. Partly because he ruined his own opportunities, he left behind very few recordings.

However, the simple yet powerful flavor of the blues harmonica is something you won't find anywhere else. Both albums I and II are heavily influenced by Sonny Boy Williamson and Little Walter, but the overwhelming volume, strength, and crispness are second to none! The vocals are also great, with a different flavor from Sonny Boy I, and are a little rough around the edges! The opening song, "Eyesight To The Blind" (Sonny Boy II), is exhilarating! It's an unforgettable hidden masterpiece.
