The first LP reissue of "Peaceful," the masterful debut album by renowned writer/producer and singer Al Johnson, released in 1978! A true masterpiece, full of freshness!

Washington, D.C. singer Al Johnson, so famous as the producer of Terry Huff's devilishly famous album "The Lonely One," made his debut as the lead singer of the Unifix in the 1960s and recorded the Norman Connors-produced 1980 album His debut album "Peaceful" was released on a minor label called Marina in 1978. The album was surprisingly produced by Lloyd Price (plus Nate Adams and Al Johnson themselves), a singer who left many R&R/R&B classics in the 50's, and featured Bernard Purdy (ds) and, also surprisingly, Leo Nocentelli of The Meaters (g). And it's nice to see Terry Huff join in on the chorus. The album includes the pleasant medium "I've Got My Second Wind" and the soothing ballad "Peaceful," both of which have a Philly-Soul feel, and "It's Not Too Late The chorus of "I'll Do Anything For You" is too beautiful and sad, and "Since You Walked Out Of My Life" reminds me of Marvin Gaye's "What's Goin' On". It is a masterpiece with no throw-away songs and no price tag. Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)
