THE SAHIB SHIHAB QUINTET “Seeds” LP
This long-awaited LP reissue of a European jazz treasure released in 1969 and led by multi-reedist Sahib Shihab!
This was recorded for West Germany's Vogue in 1969 by a quintet consisting of five leaders of the Clark-Bolan Orchestra, Francie Bolan, Jimmy Wood, Kenny Clarke, and Fats Sadie, with Sahib Shihab at the front. The album is extremely stylish and sophisticated, showcasing a perfect form of European jazz that could only have been achieved by this group, with tracks such as the exquisite Latin jazz "Seeds," the waltz "Peter's Waltz" dedicated to his son, and the modal "Mauve."
