Takuma Matsunaga "Epoch" LP
Based on ambient and electronic music, the one and only young talent Takuma Matsunaga has added the essence of hip hop to his latest album "Epoch", which he created with yahyel's Mill Shinoda. It will be released simultaneously in three formats: CD, LP and cassette!
Born in 1999, Takuma Matsunaga is a musician based in Tokyo who grew up in a wide variety of music, including classical, black, ambient, and electronic music, and began his career in earnest in 2021. He welcomed Miru Shinoda, also known as a member of yahyel, as producer to produce his latest album "Epoch", which took about a year and a half to produce, and will be released simultaneously in three formats: CD, LP, and cassette. The sounds that appear on the album were recorded using analog and digital synthesizers in real time, and are pure and unique works based on ambient and electronic music with the essence of hip hop added. The artwork for the CD, LP, and cassette are a collection of the attention to detail of Atushi Yamanaka, Takuma Matsunaga, and Miru Shinoda, who were in charge of the jackets. The CD comes in a special envelope-type package, and the LP is remastered by Wax Alchemy. Detailed specifications and artwork for each format will be released in the future.
The Greek word "epokhe," the origin of the word "epoch," means "To suspend and pause judgment, to hold (ekhein) above (epi)". "Epoch" is precisely an attempt to suspend ecstasy and rapture in the midst of everyday life. It is both everyday and extraordinary, reality and a dream, or none of the above. "Epoch" is suspended in the midst of all of these things, and is the sonic trajectory of Takuma Matsunaga, traveling back and forth between them.
