Lightnin' Hopkins "Sings the Blues" LP
★First press limited edition
★Original reverse-pasted jacket
Lightnin' Hopkins, the king of Texas country blues. His 1950/51 RPM (Modern/Kent) recordings are one of the pinnacles of the lonely and dirty blues world. These have been compiled and reissued on LP, reorganized from the famous album released by Crown in 1961, also famous for its beautiful jacket. Lightnin' was in his late 30s at the time and in the prime of his life. His tasteful, seasoned vocals sometimes exude awe. His guitar moves lightly and freely. This is one of the best recordings of Lightnin's singing and playing style. No one can escape the devilish charm of these extremely dense blues. He truly has the presence of a king.
