Samuel Purdy is a duo formed by Gavin Dodds and Bernie Hurley, early touring members of Jamiroquai. Their only album, Musically Adrift, released in 1999 and featuring Steely Dan alumni such as producer Elliot Shiner and guitarist Elliot Randall, has been reissued on delightful colored vinyl!
This album, which became a hot topic when Suchmos publicly declared it to be one of their favorite albums, is a masterpiece that allows you to enjoy the ingenuity of songwriting colored by mellow grooves, including the killer tune "Lucky Radio," which was also released as a 7-inch, the captivating chord progression and chorus work of "Whatever I Do," the disco number "Only When I'm With You" with its memorable talkbox phrase, and a superb cover of Carole King's "Bitter With The Sweet."
