Free soul fans rejoice! A very rare R&B feeling LP (with obi), a soul/jazz vocal album full of soul and jazz vocals, which was treated as a phantom classic in the club scene! A collector's favourite! A two-fisted act that never ceases to get love calls from the floor! The latest LP reissue of this masterpiece for the age of diversity!
Jazz singer Penny Goodwin's masterpiece, recorded for Milwaukee's Sidney Enterprises from '73-74. Only 2000 copies were pressed for the private label at the time, making this ultra-rare release a collector's dream. The cover of Marvin Gaye's 'What's Going On' (B3), with its funky, mellow arrangement, is particularly popular, and the cover of Gil Scott Heron's 'Lady Day & John Coltrane' (M4) has even mods singing along. A fast ride to great satisfaction! Backed by Richard Evans, Phil Upchurch, Morris Jennings and many others, the diverse and rich musicality of the album, which combines jazz, R&B and gospel, made it famous through the introduction of MURO and the strong respect and strong recommendation from many famous DJs. He became famous in a big way. The cover of "What's Going On" is a must-have for diggers and DJs with its floor-like soulful vocals full of R&B feeling and pretty jazz sound!
