"YAKUL" is a UK future soul band from Brighton, who has been drawing attention for their cutting-edge sound that combines SOUL, JAZZ, R&B and HIPHOP. They have also attracted attention for their collaboration with edbl, and are finally making their Japanese debut!

YAKUL is a four-piece future soul band based in Brighton, UK. With a style based on SOUL, JAZZ, R&B, and HIPHOP, and a distinctive electronic band sound, they made their debut in 2017 with the single "Giveaway", and in 2018 they released singles "Realigned" and "Bad Karma" consistently. In 2019, their first EP "Getting Late" was picked up by top UK DJs such as Gilles Peterson and Jamz Supernova, attracting attention mainly in London. Furthermore, he was nominated for Best Jazz Act of the Year at the Urban Music Awards in 2020 and received high praise from many quarters. In 2021, he released his first album, Rise Indigo, with co-producer Jim Macrae, who is also known for his work with Jordan Rakei, and further evolved by crossing over a feeling that is similar to 70s and 80s AOR and city pop from the UK, and established a solid position in the UK by embarking on his first UK headline tour. In 2022, a collaborative album by South London producer edbl and band frontman James Berkeley was released in Japan, making him an artist who is attracting attention not only in Europe and the US but also in Japan and Asia.
