The super rare record that soul and funk hard diggers have been desperately searching for is finally back! This rare groove masterpiece, famous for its superb groove and vintage artwork by the band "Rare Feelings," led by bassist Rick Mason, is finally being officially reissued for the first time in the world!
This album was recorded in Philadelphia in 1977 by Rare Feelings, a band centered around Rick Mason, who supported the band's groove as a bassist while also being fully involved as a songwriter, arranger, and producer. This is an exquisite piece that every soul and funk hard digger would want to own, and the few diggers who were lucky enough to get their hands on it will be thrilled not only by its sound, but also by the vintage artwork! The opening "Rare Feelings" (M1) blends Rick Mason's bass with a roaring sound, the organ and horns, and the mysterious vocals that come in faintly, creating an exquisite psychedelic feel. The slap bass intro starts with a surging horn section and organ, and just when you think the tension has risen all at once, it suddenly changes to a mid-tempo tune and leads into "Dope" (M2), where the mysterious vocals are intertwined again, creating a sound worthy of being called rare groove! This extremely rare album is sure to get the crowd going with not only the bass and organ, but also the relentless drum fills, fast-cutting guitar and solo, and the brilliant flute lead in the instrumental number "Metamorphosis Funk" (M6). It's finally being officially reissued for the first time in the world!
