This is the memorable debut album by Wendell Harrison, founder of "TRIBE", under his solo name. It is also famous as a masterpiece of spiritual jazz, an updated version of the A-side of the 1st Version (commonly known as the cliff jacket) of the masterpiece "Message From The Tribe" that symbolizes "TRIBE" and was released the previous year, which Wendell Harrison took the helm on! The album includes the opening songs "Mary Had An Abortion" (M1) and "Consciousness" (M5), which build up tension with a poetry reading that conveys a strong message with a deep voice and a freaky sound, the soulful "Vol II Angry Young Man Part I - Part II" (M3-4), which is overwhelmed by the young Wendell Harrison's fierce blow, the heart-warming horn that tugs at your heartstrings against the background of a tranquil soundscape, and the mellow and spiritual masterpiece "Where Am I" (M2), which is loved by many DJs and diggers. All songs have been newly mastered and reissued in the latest specifications with the original 1st press jacket with full-size printed visuals!
