Reggie Fields, known as THE REAL SHOOBEEDOO, who has been active in many fields as a bassist since the 70s, released his first album as a leader in 1981 on "Wenha," the successor label to "Tribe." This is a spiritual jazz work infused with the pitch-black groove and strong blackness cultivated through his work with "Tribe" and his collaborations with Sun Ra and Pharoah Sanders! It is no exaggeration to say that the spirituality of "Tribe" is beautifully inherited, with the roaring electric bass, the dark singing voice that shows an overwhelming presence, and the title track "Reminiscing" (M2), which starts with a rough blow by Wendell Harrison, and gradually builds up tension from a double bass solo. The tasteful vocals on "The Wagon Walk" (M4) and "Ancient Egyptian Rhythms" (M5) are also worth listening to!
