Standards "Fruit Town" CD

This is the latest album from the LA instrumental/math rock duo standards, who have attracted worldwide attention, having featured as guest acts on POLYPHIA and DELTA SLEEP's US tours, and having already toured the US and Europe under their own name! Described by GUITAR WORLD magazine as "an emerging talent", Marcos Mena's technical cross-tapping and cheerful guitar playing, along with a sound filled with the positive feeling of California, are new generation guitar music that will take the possibilities of instrumental guitar music pioneered by POLYPHIA, CHON, COVET and others to a new stage!

Standards is an instrumental/math rock duo based in Los Angeles, US. The duo was introduced by the international guitar media "GUITAR WORLD" as "an emerging talent" for their technical and aggressive guitar playing that makes full use of cross-tapping. Despite their simple band lineup of just guitar and drums, they are garnering attention as a new generation artist who shows the further possibilities of guitar music with their songful guitar riffs and sound-making that evokes the refreshing winds and skies of California. Each album features a different drummer, with Jacob Richards on the 1st EP "standards" (May 2018), Forrest Rice (COVET) on the 2nd EP "Friends" (March 2019), Forrest Rice (COVET) and Brody Taylor Smith (SATYR) on the 1st Album "Fruit Island" (August 2020), and the latest album "Fruit Town" (July 2022) was produced with Forrest Rice from COVET, as in the 1st Album (Cam Mitchell plays in the music video). In 2018, he was booked as a guest act for POLYPHIA and DELTA SLEEP's US tour/LA performance, attracting attention in the scene immediately after the release of his 1st EP, and is expected to be an artist with worldwide activities, not only touring the US under his own name, but also touring the UK and Europe in 2019 and 2022.
