The Lewis Connection "The Lewis Connection" CD
★2022 latest remaster edition★Paper jacket★First press limited edition
The legendary work released in 1979 by The Louis Connection, a Minneapolis funk band famous for featuring Prince, has been reissued as a newly remastered version!
This legendary album by the Minneapolis funk band "The Lewis Connection," which also includes "Got To Be Something Here" featuring Prince, was only pressed in about 100 copies. This was the first time that Prince participated in an album under another name, and Prince made a guest appearance on this album around 1976, when he was recording his first album in a Minneapolis studio. The Lewis Connection was a band centered around the Lewis brothers, Pierre on keyboards and Joe on drums, and the band leader, Sonny Thompson, was a bassist and vocalist who would later join the New Power Generation. Prince, who is the center of attention on this album, is featured on the fourth track, "Got To Be Something Here," and participates on guitar and backing vocals. This song is a slow ballad based on spacey synths, and Sonny Thompson's tenor voice and the sexy falsetto chorus of the young Prince (who was 17-18 years old at the time) are so beautiful... Other tracks on the album include "Dynamic Duo," the most euphoric fusion-style instrumental jazz-funk piece, making this a great Minneapolis funk masterpiece that can also be enjoyed as a single piece!
