Homeboy and the COL "Outbreak" CD
★Limited edition★Paper jacket specification
Cecil Ride, the Chicago soul singer who enjoys immense support from soul enthusiasts around the world, has finally reissued two extremely rare albums he released under the name Homeboy and the COL after the release of the 80s modern soul/boogie masterpiece "Stone Free"!
This is the second album released in 1984, and like the previous album, it features a full 80s style sound with a large synth feature! Starting with the light funk "You Turn Me Out" (M1) with its glittering synth ensemble and electro beats, there are dance numbers that are sure to have livened up the floor in the 80s such as "When Will You Be Mine" (M2) and "I Saw You Dancing" (M5), as well as the ballad "I Don't Want To Be A Movie Star" (M6) with its tearful lead guitar and soulful vocals and chorus, a cover of the Lovers' classic "La La (Means I Love You)" (M3), and the final track "Money's Funny Change Is Strange (Rap)" (M9) which shows off a rap that seems to be ahead of its time. It is a rich recording content!
