Marvin Peterson And The Soulmasters “In Concert” CD

The 70's legendary trumpeter Marvin Peterson has released a powerful live album with a total of eight musicians! Enjoy a legendary night that transcends the boundaries of jazz, soul, and funk, and will wow any rare groove fan!

Before Hannibal Marvin Peterson had even taken up the name "Hannibal", he recorded this album with a total of eight musicians in his hometown of Texas. Among them was Emry Thomas, an organist who had participated in the BB King Band, and Eugene Carrier and Johnny "Guitar" Watson's bands. This is a work that transcends the boundaries of jazz, soul, and funk, and as the album cover suggests, it is a powerful live recording that makes you feel the excitement of the audience. The opening song "Groove for Otis" (M1), which has a dangerous title alone, is a jazz-funk song with an edgy beat that will definitely excite rare groove fans, and it makes a successful start. In "Our Groove" (M4), a groovy bass line and Eugene's organ that invites you to dance are intertwined. The album plays a total of six songs, including "Summertime" (M5), which could be said to be a solo performance of Marvin Peterson's trumpet, and you'll feel like you're in Texas! A powerful live album!
